Overview
The FOLD artwork series in Nabucco leather, designed by our creative duo Barbieri Magalini duo creativo Barbieri Magalini for Prodital Leather, was presented at EDIT Napoli 2024, within the prestigious setting of the Archivio di Stato.
The exhibition experience, curated by MM Company, harked back to the museum world as a reflection of the value of the works: 3 artworks framed by the location’s precious frescoes, supported by easels, an audioguide in two languages with a narrative of the works, and a leaflet.
FOLD, designed by Barbieri Magalini for Prodital Leather, is a series of artwork in fine Nubuck leather, encased in a steel shell, that draws inspiration from the ancient Japanese art of origami. Through this creation, the creative duo Barbieri Magalini shifts the focus from the material, Nabucco Leather, to the creative process, immortalizing a crucial moment in the creative process of origami: the first fold. Each piece represents a canvas of solids and follows a strict color scheme, a reflection of their modernist and rationalist aesthetic, and inspired by the location’s frescoes.
